About LGC

Recognising the lack of a Gear Manufacturing Industry in Ireland, both North and South of the border Limavady Gear Company was set up in 1979 as a fully equipped facility specialising in the manufacture of replacement gears for the Industrial and Heavy Plant industries.

During the following 26 years the company expanded it's range of gear products and moved into the refurbishment and building of complete gearboxes becoming well known throughout Ireland at this time. The manufacture of Moulds for the toothed belt industry was also commenced and has been very successful to date along with the design and manufacture of Special Purpose machinery and complex Jigs and Fixtures.

In 2005 the company was acquired by Mr Richard Hogg already a successful businessman in his own right and under his guidance is currently experiencing extensive changes in both it's management and physical structure. The company now has a total staff of 27 who together boast over 180 years of experience in Precision and Gear engineering.

The current management team is enthusiastically striving to have the company become a more prominent force in the Gear Industry and under Mr Hogg has extended it's scope of operations into the Port and Marine sector where he feels there is a need which LGC can fill.
